Camberwell Lunchtime Workout

One of the main reasons we hear from clients who don’t manage to exercise much outside of their PT sessions is time. That’s why a short and sharp lunchtime workout can be great value, especially if you have showers at work! The below workout is another run based in Camberwell but it can adapted for anywhere really!

Run Around Camberwell

Start your workout on Inglesby road just outside the Boroondara Council Offices. There is a little patch of grass to do some mobilisation exercises – lunges, heel flicks and high knees to get yourself nice and warmed up. You can extend this warm up a bit by adding a few higher intensity exercises such as star jumps, burpees and squat jumps. Follow this warm with a great little 5.5km loop including a nice gentle downhill start and a less nice uphill to end. Head down Inglesby road towards Camberwell road and turn right up the small hill. Run up this little hill and then start to head down the hill. After about 1km you will reach Fordham gardens, run through the gardens and cross the railway onto the anniversary trail. You should then follow the trail all the way to Riversdale road, through Frog Hollow reserve and past the Camberwell Scout Hall.

Finishing The Workout

Once you reach Riversdale road turn left and start up the hill, you will have to cross the train line again half way up the hill (which can sometimes give you a nice break). Turn left on Stanhope Grove, at the top of the hill, and you will soon find yourself back at the Council Offices. If you’ve got a bit of time left over and you want to challenge yourself a bit more you can even pop onto Canterbury oval. This is a great place for a few high intensity exercises and stretching to finish your workout off. Try the following – 15 burpees, 15 squat jumps, 15 press ups and 15 split jumps followed by some stretching. Now enjoy the rest of your days work safe in the knowledge that you’ve done something to help your health and wellbeing!
