Gold medalist
In her youth Kimberlee competed in the Special Olympics and won a gold medal for basketball. Kimberlee decided to start Personal Training in order to start boxing and trying other new exercise, as she missed being active. After a search for the right place for her she found our 100% private Studios and realised they were the perfect fit for her. As soon as she put the boxing gloves on she fell in love! Kimberlee loves a good challenge, and loves pushing herself to the limit.
Reaching milestones
When she first started Training with Damian Wallis at Fitness Enhancement Kimberlee didn’t have any specific goals, but as she has trained she has not only enjoyed her new ‘sport’ but has noticed many health and fitness benefits. Kimberlee has been able to greatly increase the strength and functionality in her right hand which is significantly impacted by her cerebral palsy. She has also seen a weight loss of almost 10kg and her family and friends are starting to notice!
Life Changing
Kimberlee has found her Personal Training a life changing experience so far. In addition to all the benefits listed above, she has found herself being able to do things she never thought possible. She regularly completes kick boxing, throwing heavy medicine balls, and many other challenging bodyweight exercises in her weekly sessions. Kimberlee walks on the treadmill, the crosstrainer and rows on the rowing machine. In fact she managed to complete 12km on the rowing machine and 10km on the treadmill as her personal best so far. In addition to this Kimberlee has been able to walk the length of her steep, hilly street down to the bus stop which has given her a lot more freedom to travel without relying on other people.
Favourite exercise: Kimberlee says ‘I love everything about training, I love to be challenged!’
Least favourite exercise: ‘This is an easy question – I love every exercise I’ve been shown. I have no least favourite exercise!’
Future Goals
Kimberlee is keen to keep moving forward and making progress. She wants to continue to lose weight, continue strengthening and straightening her right arm to improve functionality, and she aims to complete the 10km run in the Gold Coast Marathon next year.
Kimberlee says:
‘I love every exercise I have been shown, there’s nothing I say no to. I have a go at everything, even if it takes longer to get the exercise right. I am able to do things I never thought I could do thanks to my Trainer Damian!’
