It’s the 1st of July, the start of a new business year, it’s also worth noting that six months have passed since many people set their health, fitness, or weight loss resolutions for 2023. However, studies reveal that over 90% of people give up on their New Year’s resolution within the first three months. And many repeat the same cycle and will set identical resolutions for 2024 in six months, and get identical results.
If you find yourself in this situation, let’s break the cycle and try something different. Why not kick start your New Year’s resolution today? If we can invent Christmas in July, surely we can invent New Year’s resolutions in July too! The key to success lies in making a change, as the saying goes: “If nothing changes, nothing changes.” Take a moment to reflect on what went wrong in the past and learn from those experiences.
Each person is unique and faces their own obstacles when striving to achieve a goal. However, many of our successful clients experienced the same challenges repeatedly until they started working with a Fitness Enhancement Personal Trainer. Here are a few common problems our clients encountered before joining us and how we helped them overcome those challenges:
Problem: I don’t feel comfortable at the gym.
Solution: Our PT studios are 100% private, and our Mobile PTs can come to your home, providing you with a comfortable and personalised fitness experience.
Problem: I don’t have enough time to go to the gym four times a week.
Solution: Focus on quality rather than quantity. Commit to one amazing PT session a week, which not only sets you up for success but also allows you to manage your schedule effectively.
Problem: Balancing kids, work, and life makes it difficult to go to the gym.
Solution: Our mobile PTs can come to you, eliminating the need for juggling. Your kids can even join in for free, making fitness a fun and inclusive activity for everyone.
Problem: I often experience soreness, fatigue, or injuries at the gym, making it hard to stay consistent.
Solution: Avoid joining the wrong gym. Most fitness programs and workouts cater to fit and uninjured individuals in their 20s who are already at a healthy weight. If that doesn’t describe you, it’s crucial to choose a fitness program that’s designed for who you really are.
Problem: I hate diets and struggle to stick to them.
Solution: You don’t have to go on a diet. Instead, make a few healthy changes that you can maintain over time, setting yourself up for long-term success. Remember, your overall health isn’t solely determined by the number on the scales. Consider how exercise makes you feel physically and mentally, focusing on increased fitness, strength, and energy.
Problem: A one-year New Year’s resolution feels like a daunting commitment.
Solution: Start with a five-month resolution that allows you to enjoy Christmas as well. By December, with five months of success behind you, you can plan your goals for 2024. This timeframe provides ample opportunity to achieve remarkable results while ensuring sustainability in the long run.
We could provide countless examples based on our experience of helping clients find solutions to their problems over the past 24 years. Many of our clients have trained with us every week (well at least 40 weeks a year because we’re all about balance) for over a decade, surpassing their previous records of only lasting a few months at traditional gyms or home fitness programs.
This July, why not book a free consultation with one of our PTs to determine if we are the solution to your challenges? Even if we aren’t, we will help you discover what is, enabling you to kick-start your New Year’s resolution in July.
