Our CEO and founder, Scott Hunt, will be speaking at the Fitness Industry Expo in Sydney next week, across two different sessions that are both very close to what we’ve built Fitness Enhancement around over the last 27 years.

the inclusive brand how diversity and belonging are reshaping fitness marketing

The first is around inclusion and diversity, and how the fitness industry can do a better job of helping the people who often need us the most.

The fitness industry does a great job of marketing to get fit people fitter. But there are so many people who don’t see themselves fitting into the typical gym environment.

People who are very unfit or overweight. Seniors. People living with disability. People dealing with mental health issues or health conditions. People who lack confidence, hate gyms or simply feel exercise isn’t for someone like them.

Yet these are often exactly the people a good personal trainer can make the biggest difference to.

That’s something we’ve focused on for decades at Fitness Enhancement, and Scott is looking forward to sharing some of what we’ve learnt with the wider industry.

He’ll also be speaking on the Independent Operators panel.

Fitness Enhancement has grown a lot since Scott started it with the $400 he had saved as a teenager, but one thing that hasn’t changed is that we’re still a family-owned, independent Australian business.

There’s no private equity company, outside investors or big corporate board behind us. It’s still his family-owned business supporting our franchisees, who are running their own small family businesses in their local communities.

So even after 27 years, Scott is still very familiar with the challenges that come with running an independent business. They’re just on a somewhat larger scale these days!

If you’re not in the fitness industry or similar, or planning to be, the Fitness Industry Conference itself probably isn’t something you’d enjoy.

But for Scott, attending these sorts of events long before he was ever invited to speak at them, and continuing that education today, has been a big part of helping us keep improving Fitness Enhancement.

The more we learn about training, business, marketing and what the best people across our industry are doing, the better we can make what we do for you as a client.

Scott is looking forward to being on the other side of the stage next week and sharing some of those 27 years of lessons with the industry.
