Client Robin Jarman is fitter and healthier than in her 20s

Client of the month RobinTaking on new challenges

Robin started to improve her health and fitness with Fitness Enhancement Personal Training a decade ago. She had already been attending a gym prior to this, but felt like she needed to step things up a bit. She needed to challenge herself more than she could just on her own. Robin had a bit of a health scare during that time and that made her think about what things would be like as she got older. She wanted to stay fit and strong and healthy so she could enjoy life in the future as well. This was a big motivator for Robin, and got her to the next step in her health and fitness journey.

Getting the results

When Robin first started at Fitness Enhancement, her goal was simple: to lose weight and get fit. She wasn’t too worried about being a specific size or weight. What mattered was how she felt about her body, she wanted to feel good about herself inside and out. Robin has now trained with her current Trainer Ryan for over 2 years, she also attends the Group Training classes at the Gold Coast studio regularly. Since she first started training, Robin has lost incredible 20 kg and feels and is healthier and fitter than in her 20s! Her only regret is that she didn’t start training any sooner!

Robin’s big goal was to be able to finish Tough Mudder obstacle race before her 50th birthday, which she did complete alongside other Fitness Enhancement clients. In fact, she did even better than this: Tough Mudder wasn’t enough of challenge for Robin, so the following year she completed True Grit obstacle race successfully.

Robin says:

“I would never have even dreamed about doing something like obstacle races race before, but now I am much more confident to get in and try new things.”

Setting up new goals for the future

Nowadays, Robin really enjoys exercising, even though sometimes it doesn’t feel that much fun at the time, as we all would know. She has learned to enjoy the feeling she gets during and after exercise, which is a bonus! Robin knows how hard it can be when you first start working out and your body is getting used to the new challenges, but being consistent is the key. She loves her training sessions with Personal Trainer Ryan, who always pushes her and comes up with all sorts of new exercises for Robin to try to keep training interesting. Robin has seen a lot of improvement in her fitness with her sessions over the last couple years with Ryan. She also truly enjoys the Group Training classes, and the fun challenges other Fitness Enhancement Trainers offer her. The social aspect she gets by attending the group classes, brings great variety to her training. Robin says: “We are all very supportive of one another. Although, I don’t think I will ever get any more shuttle runs out in Nat’s mad minute!”

Favourite exercise:

I don’t really have a favourite one, but I do prefer weight training in general.

Least favourite exercise:

OMG everyone knows that I HATE burpees with a passion. Don’t we all?

Future goals:

If I could just get ONE unassisted chin up out wouldn’t that be awesome!
