Recovering from back surgery
Back in 2010 Karen had an unfortunate accident whereby she ruptured a disc in her lower back. This meant that she had a protrusion of one of her shock absorbing discs in her spine and it was pushing on a nerve and causing her a lot of pain. On a day to day basis, Karen was living in constant pain. She knew she had to do something about it. The problem was so severe that she needed to have an operation to fix the disc and relieve her pain. After her operation, Karen had a lot of physio and rehabilitation work to do, but her goal was to get fit and healthy. This is when she decided to start Personal Training with Fitness Enhancement. Karen has been consistently training with us for over 4 years and is loving every minute of it!
No more pain
Since starting her training at our Gold Coast PT Studio, Karen has strengthened her core and lower back and has not suffered any pain since the operation. She is now strong enough to enjoy Mountain Biking, Wakeboarding and life in general pain free! Her biggest accomplishment to date aside from being pain free, is that she can Deadlift 115kg!
Meeting the challenge
Karen loves to be pushed in her training sessions. She loves a challenge and is always pushing herself to her limits. She gives absolutely everything in every session and the effort is paying off big time! She will give any task set by her trainers a crack, no matter how daunting they seem. She may not always succeed in her first attempt, but this just fuels her fire to make her want to give it another go and to conquer the challenge. She won’t let anything beat her!
Karen’s focus for her training now is to maintain a strong back while continuing to improve her overall strength and fitness.
Karen says that her trainer’s Hanna and Kevin are terrific! They are extremely supportive and most of all, they push her when she needs it! Not only does she get a good workout, but she gets a good laugh too!
