Client Bo – Building strength after two total knee replacements

Bo was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis a few years back after suffering from severe pain and stiffness in her knees for a long time. The medication she was put on, had side effects and was part of the reason her weight crept up about 15 kg in a short period of time. Lack of mobility, weight gain and constant flare ups in her knees caused Bo to get both knee joints replaced in 2015. The recovery and rehabilitation after the total knee replacements was going slow, and Bo decided to get some help for the process from Personal Training.

Overcoming hurdles

Unfortunately, there was one more set back on the way before Bo could start training. Due to poor bone density, Bo fractured her wrist and broke her patella right after she first decided to make a start with her health and fitness. This pushed her back a little bit, but Bo was determined and motivated to get better! After getting a clearance from her doctor, she was able to start strengthening her body with the help of our knowledgeable Personal Trainers.

Achieving her goals

Bo started Personal Training sessions with us in September 2016 after 3 years of suffering from rheumatoid arthritis in both knees and a serious injury to her patella. Bo’s goals were to gain strength and muscle mass, and to be able to improve the condition of her knees. To this date, she has achieved unbelievable results, Bo has managed to lose a total of 9kgs in just the last couple of months by improving her diet and staying consistent with her exercibo client testimonialses. She has also built up strength in her legs and upper body and is able to complete exercises that just weren’t possible for her before. Bo enjoys all aspects of training, she loves all exercises given to her by her Personal Trainers Ida and Andrea, and enjoys the feeling of her body getting stronger. Both of her Trainers bring something different to her sessions. In every training session, there is something new to be learnt. Bo trains at our 100% Private Personal Training Studio twice a week, and does some training on her own time as well. Bo has an exercise bike at home which she enjoys using, she now understands how important it is to keep activity levels up on a daily basis!
