Burleigh Heads is a great place to go for the beautiful beach, the fantastic beachfront parks, playgrounds for the kids, nice wide walking/biking tracks all along the foreshore stretching all the way from Mermaid Beach, through Miami, down to Burleigh Heads and beyond, grassy green parks, fun playgrounds for the kids and fun fitness equipment for the grown-ups!

Justin's Park

On the weekends Justin’s Park is incredibly popular with tourists and locals alike. There is a patrolled beach with flags, as well as a popular surfing spot right off the point. From here it’s just a short walk to Burleigh Heads National Park with a beautiful walk that goes through the headland to Tallebudgera Creek. On a Sunday night the park comes alive with the sounds of bongo drums, as families gather with their dinner and picnic blankets to enjoy the free entertainment of the bongo players, the fire-twirlers and hula hoops.

Burleigh Heads Beach

Park in the car park at Justin’s Park if you can find a spot, otherwise there is parking stretching all the way along the Esplanade up to Miami Beach.

Start by doing a quick jog from your car park along the bike trail to the grassy area of Justin’s Park. Find yourself a park bench and perform 10 push ups. Jog down to the beach and perform three 50 m sprints across the soft sand – sprint one direction, then walk back as you catch your breath.

Jog down to the hard sand and run along past the Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park SLSC, just out the front of Oskars restaurant – to the rocks at the point. At the rocks perform 10 lunges on each leg. Pick a stable rock and perform 10 step ups on each leg.

Finishing Up

Turn around jog back along the hard sand to your starting point.

Run back up to the soft sand and repeat your three 50 m sprints. Head back to the grass and start to slow your pace down, walking a lap around the grass – perform a second set of push ups on a park bench, then find a soft patch of grass to sit down on.

Perform a set of 10 crunches, 10 bicycles and 10 supermans. Repeat 3 times. Finish with a nice stretch as you look out over the ocean.
