Supercharge your vitality for Autumn with 3 simple steps

When we talk about supercharging our nutrition, often we are told about supplements, vitamins, or sourcing out some rare spice from the Amazon rain forest to add into some awful tasting health tonic, alongside a bunch of other stuff that wouldn’t usually be sitting in our cupboards!

Here we have 3 super quick, easy, simple ways that you can give your body a great hit of yummy nourishing goodness that is real and doesn’t involve popping pills or going on a hike to the upper reaches of the ends of the Earth!

  1. Squeeze It!

Lemon-water

There are so many benefits to adding lemon (or lime) to water for fantastic health-boosting benefits.  It is amazing first thing in the morning with warm water on an empty stomach, but is super beneficial at any time of day!  A great thirst quencher during a hot Australian Summer, squeeze your butt whilst you squeeze some lemon into a glass of soda water and ice for a super refreshing bevy! Just a smidgen of the lemony goodness benefits include:

  • aiding digestion (better number two’s!)
  • detoxifying liver
  • immune boosting (get in early and build that stuff up before flu season hits)
  • reduces inflammation, and
  • helps put your body into a state of alkalinity.  What is so good about being alkaline?  It means that your body can better release excess body fat.  Always a good thing!

  1. Throw It

Eating more veggies is a great way to boost your body with the good stuff, but green leaves, in particular, are super boosted when it comes to the yummies that come out of the ground!

Spruce up your Banana Smoothies by throwing a handful of baby spinach leaves!  It means you’ll be getting a quick hit of greens first thing in the morning (if that’s when you’re having them), and they have a fairly mild taste so you’ll barely notice the difference – except the colour.  And on those days when it’s so hot and humid, you almost don’t want to eat, smoothie it up by substituting milk for coconut water at any time of day for a hydrating, nutritious burst of healthy energy that keeps your body a fat burning machine all day long!

Do you have a smoothie recipe that is so good that you just have to share it with others?  Be sure to tell your PT at your next session, or share it on our Facebook page!

  1. Scramble It!

Also, a great way to clean the fridge out at the end of the week, make your Saturday morning cooked breakfast go further by adding crispier items to your eggs!  You’ll still get the satisfaction of having your much-loved bacon and eggs, with the added benefit of some plants for free, with minimal effort or thinking required!  Play around with shallots, capsicum, mushrooms, zucchini, or anything that needs using to avoid wastage and increase yum!
