Where did you grow up?

I grew up in the Sydney area, in particular the Hawkesbury District.

Tell us about your sporting and fitness history?

I have always been an active person.  As a kid, I was never an inside/TV kind of person, I was always outside kicking a ball or shooting hoops.  Soccer has always been my main focus though sporting wise – I have played since I was six 6, so I’m in my 21st year!

What are some specific lift achievements you can recall?

Honestly, actually becoming a PT is ones of my greatest achievements.  I’d wanted to be a Personal Trainer since I was in my teens, however didn’t follow it through right away.  It was when I was hit by a car and after 2 years of physio and painful rehab that I really decided that life is too short not to do what you love.  I moved to Queensland and started in fitness as soon as I was qualified.  Being a PT has also definitely helped me personally with the ongoing management of my injuries from the accident.

Where do you live now?

I am currently based out of Springwood in Queensland, and service clients all around the area and in the greater Brisbane area as well.

How about your previous work history?

It’s kind of ironic actually, I worked in fast food whilst I was at school.  It’s so amazing to now be on the complete other end of that industry helping people overcome challenges with the very thing I used to do for a few bucks.  I’m so happy that I get to do what I love now and help make an actual difference, not just do something, especially something I don’t believe in, just for the money.

Why and when did you decide to become a Personal Trainer?

I’ve been a Personal Trainer for over years now.  It was after my accident when I knew I needed to make a big change in my life that I moved to Queensland to make it happen.  I was also considering PE Teaching or Physio and an option to be able to help people, but becoming a Personal Trainer meant that I could get out and start helping people sooner!+

Why did you become a Fitness Enhancement Franchisee?

After being a rent-paying trainer a big box gym for a lot of years, I learned a lot about the good and bad of the industry.  Wanting more, I then became a part of the team at Fitness Enhancement and loved it!  From there I learned great new skills and discovered true support, and decided that going ahead with my own Fitness Enhancement fitness franchise at Springwood and around Logan was clearly the best way for me to continue taking my Personal Training to the next level.  I’ve not ever been so successful in this profession as I have been since being a Fitness Enhancement franchisee.

What would you say your training style is?

I’m definitely into training outdoors.  I love boxing with clients as there are so many different things you can do to have a great workout and feel successful, even if you’ve never done it or considered it an option before.  I also enjoy circuit, interval styles of training  as well.

And your favourite part of being a PT?

Being able to help people achieve their goals and have fun whilst doing it is something that is unbelievably awesome.  Words can’t really describe how amazing it is to be a Personal Trainer. It’s a great feeling every day.  Seeing a client so overjoyed having achieved something through my help brings me so much happiness, it’s just a true honour.

What is your most memorable Personal Training session?

No one session in particular stands out for me, but when I think of all my sessions as a whole the thing that does stand out for me from all of them is clients having fun.

What is your favourite exercise as a Trainer?

I love Boxing, but I also like prescribing ‘The Plank’ – it’s a full body work out in one simple exercise where the client doesn’t have to move around too much and can feel successful doing it.

What is your favourite exercise or sport outside of work?

Soccer for sure!

What is your favourite quote?

“You only get out what you put in” – Nutri Grain!
