Finding it hard to come up with enough time for a training session? Winter can be a hard time of the year to keep the motivation up, but summer is only around the corner! Follow these five practical tips for keeping active and adding more exercise into your day! There is so much more you can do with just a little extra effort.
1. Turn your daily commute into a workout.
Riding a bike to work or even walking or jogging gets you fitter, and might even save you some time if and when the traffic’s bad!
2. Sneak in a lunch time workout.
Instead of staying seated for the duration of your precious break, try to keep active. Stretching, walking or body weight exercises are all good ways to sneak in a bit of movement! Even if it’s just 5 minutes at the end of your break.
3. Get active with your daily chores!
You can even get your kids to participate! Washing your car, vacuuming or working in the garden are all good ways to keep active whilst getting your chores done.
4. Wake up earlier!
Getting up only 30 minutes before your usual wake up time can make a huge difference. Exercise is a great way to start your day, and you’ll be happy since your workout is ticked off first thing each day.
5. Socialize while you exercise!
Instead of catching up for a coffee or movies with your friends or loved ones, why not try something more active? A Saturday morning walk with the family, or a game of football with your friends or even a treadmill date on a Friday night, are all great active options.
