Trainer Lauren Dickenson boxing
Country girl

Lauren grew up in the country town of Orange in NSW. As a child she played hockey in the snow during the cold winters. At age 15 Lauren moved to Brisbane with her family, with a bit of a change in climate!

Hockey and massage

Lauren has always been a sports lover, playing hockey from age 5 until her early twenties. Lauren studied her certificate 4 in massage therapy and is a fully qualified massage therapist. She believes in a holistic approach to health which combines exercise and massage to both train and strengthen the muscles, as well as stretch and release muscle tension and imbalances.

Injuries and life changes

In 2012, prior to becoming a Personal Trainer Lauren  underwent shoulder surgery which in part motivated her to make healthy lifestyle changes that saw her lose 15kg and gain all the other perks of health and fitness.  This inspired her to want to help others, and show them that you can still exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle even with injuries.

Lauren’s journey with Fitness Enhancement began with her being a client, so she really does practise what she preaches!  She eventually became a qualified Personal Trainer and started working for Fitness Enhancement just over 3 years ago and hasn’t looked back. She has many fantastic clients who are achieving great results every week.

Lauren has truly led by example with her recently broken ankle courtesy of a hiking accident, she still managed to carry on training her clients and herself, wearing a boot and working around the injury!  A testament to her success as a trainer is that all of her clients wanted to stick with a hobbling around Lauren rather one of our other great Trainers as a fill in.

Lauren is a firm believer in having a clear goal and training for it. Whether it’s a sports related goal, a performance goal, changing body shape or fitting into a pair of jeans. Lauren says “If you don’t plan for it, then how will you know how to achieve your goals?”
