Danielle Francis is one of our favorite success stories. Today, she runs a thriving PT business with 13 staff, no bricks-and-mortar overheads, no crazy PT hours, and the perfect work-life balance—with baby number 2 on the way.
Rewind about 12 years, and she actually quit on us. Before we franchised, she worked for our team as a mobile PT. She was amazing, and she reckons we were pretty good too, but she left the whole industry because she didn’t see a future in PT that she could grow with and buy a house someday. Before working with us, she’d tried paying gym rent at a big-name chain, but competing with a dozen other PTs in the one gym wasn’t sustainable. She even started her own mobile PT business, but being an amazing trainer alone wasn’t enough to build a successful business.
She left the career she was passionate about and spent two years selling carpet in a secure, “real job,” which worked fine—until the carpet store shut down. That’s when she saw that we had started franchising and reached out. Danielle came back as the proud owner of Fitness Enhancement Springwood (Brisbane southside) and became our 6th franchisee. She quickly grew her business, to half a dozen staff in less than a year and a year later with a dozen staff achieved her and her wife Leah’s long-term dream of buying a house. Check out this video with her talking about this from five years ago.
She’s done what very few PTs in the fitness industry ever achieve, and she’s also achieved what we couldn’t achieve remotely from another city with staff. Nothing beats the passion and dedication of a local small business owner. Over her eight years as a franchisee, a lot has changed. She’s transitioned from full-time PT work to becoming first and foremost a boss, and a mum. We’ve grown from 2 cities to 10, and from 1 state to 6, become NDIS registered (the NDIS didn’t exist in QLD when Danielle started) and launched Fit Your Ability which has quickly become bigger than Fitness Enhancement Personal Training and a key part of each franchisee’s business.
But what hasn’t changed—and never will—is working together as a team toward a shared goal, each of us focusing on what we do best. So many great PTs leave the industry for the same reasons Danielle did, and we’re proud to offer a solution to this as Australia’s only mobile fitness franchise. And at less than 5% of the cost of a bricks-and-mortar franchise, but with all the perks of quality tried and proven franchise systems. We’ve had so many success stories over 11 years of franchising and 25 years in business, which in turn has helped so many people of all abilities achieve their goals through a service that didn’t exist before us.
