A perfect spot for exercise
Woodlands Park is Located on the corner of Woodlands street and Carnarvon road in Essendon. Woodlands Park is a popular picnic spot with barbecue facilities situated around the park. It also has plenty of open space perfect for kicking a footy or other sporting activities, as well as a playground for children. But if you’re looking for something more, Woodlands Park is the perfect spot to do some outdoor training. For example, you can start off with a light jog around the lake and then incorporate some sprint drills as well. If you don’t have any cones with you, use a stick or a leaf to mark one spot and leave another stick to mark another spot about 100 meters away, or why not use the trees as markers and run from one to the other.
Another great idea for a full body workout is a circuit around the park.
– Start at the pergola situated closest to the playgroup and do 20 jumping jacks.
– Then sprint to the playground and find a pole to lean on and do 20 incline push ups.
– Run to the nearest bench and do 10 one legged Bulgarian lunges on each leg.
– Finally run to any picnic bench holding onto one of the ends of the table and do 20 pull ups, using your arms to lift the weight of your body off the ground.
Have 1 minute rest and repeat 3-4 times with minimal rest in between exercises.
