Underwood Park also known as Rochedale Park is located at the end of Underwood Rd, Priestdale. This is a beautiful large park with a wide range of facilities to suit people of all ages. This is a great community and family friendly park. There is substantial amount of parking and public toilets located within the park. The parks has many different sporting fields and clubs within it such as Rochedale Rovers Soccer Club, where there is also a club where you can have a nice lunch and a drink. Also Rochedale Tigers Rugby League Club (Ian Clarkson Field), Underwood Park Netball Association, Springwood Softball Club, Rochedale South Cricket Club and a BMX Club. These clubs are great for the community to get involved in to help out the clubs or just to spectate and show support for the clubs. These clubs are a fun and great way to get kids into sports as it is important for kids to stay fit and active. Sports are not only great for being active and fit but are good for team bonding and to just have fun. The different sports also work on skills such as speed, agility, co-ordination, ball skills, strength and cardio. Sport is not only for the kids there are adult teams as well so don’t be afraid to get involved at any age, it’s never too late to start.
The park also has many other facilities including a community hall, which has many different functions. Also BBQ picnic areas with undercover seating located near a massive playground so the kids can have a play, it is also the home of the big Peter Pan adventure Playground, Funderwood Park. There is also a mini basketball court located near the park to shoot some hoops. There is dog parks to the let the dogs off the lead and have a play with other dogs, there are 2 separate dog parks one for big dogs and one for the little dogs. There is a skate park located near the BMX track so the kids can take their skate boards, bikes and scooters. There is stationary exercise equipment located along walking paths. Also a nice duck pond, gazebo and grassed area at the front of the park which is perfect for weddings and formal photos. The beautiful setting also makes it the ideal location for a Rochedale personal training session or a Boot Camp class if you want to get your fitness fix.
