Majority of Gyms has two main payment methods that they use with clients. Most regular gym-goers decide to pay a fixed amount each month and in return, they get to use the gym facilities as they wish. This method is widely used in most Gyms and it encourages people to keep coming and use the facilities in order to get the results they are after.
Another method used by some gyms is pay as you go. This method means, the client will only pay for when they come in for a class or to use the gym facilities. This can be a one-off class or a one-off gym session. This method is considered somewhat outdated but has been a slightly more popular choice amongst Gyms this year than previous years. The downside of pay as you go for clients is that their motivation towards training might decrease as no one is encouraging them to go and work out regularly.
Fitness Enhancement owner and founder Scott Hunt was recently featured in an article about pay as you go gym memberships. “Pay as you go is dated and ill-effective, as is evidenced by the small amount Gyms that offer it. As a Gym owner, I thrive on recurring revenue and it’s critical for most Gyms to be successful. Assuming the Gym is run ethically, as opposed to hoping people keep paying and not attending, it increases customer satisfaction, member results and of course profits for the business. All whilst decreasing the paperwork and hassle of pay as you go!”, Scott commented. When clients regularly come in for classes they also get to know their Trainers and other staff and will get much more support that way. Fitness Enhancement offers Group Training that’s suitable for everyone and our multiple classes per day ensure there is a time that suits most busy schedules.
