Kiwi Childhood
Chloe was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. Through her childhood she was involved in a variety of sports, touch footy being the main one along with athletics(track) and softball!
Chloe had her first child at quite a young age and was naive to the massive changes that happen to the body after pregnancy. When she noticed her body was not feeling and performing quite like it used to, Chloe decided to head back into the gym scene and found her love of boxing. Her uncle, aunty and father ran boxing sessions for the community which Chloe quickly became involved with, working her way up to being a trainer for most of the sessions. That was when she knew health and fitness was her scene and helping people achieve what they thought was unrealistic was the best feeling in the world.
Moving to Australia
Family has always come first for Chloe, so 5 years ago she and her family decided to move across the ocean to Brisbane – Chloe says it was the best move ever!
Upon arriving in Brisbane Chloe joined a gym and met an awesome trainer who introduced her to the world of Crossfit and weightlifting – and she hasn’t looked back since. Having three kids by the age of 26 took up a lot of Chloe’s time, and was a workout in itself! However having her parents move over to join them here in Australia has opened up the opportunity for Chloe to fulfill her career goal of becoming a Personal Trainer.
Chloe is now a certified Personal Trainer, Crossfit Trainer and boxing coach, and has been Training with Fitness Enhancement for the last 2 years.
Variety is key
Chloe describes her training style as ‘Constantly varied’. You will never catch her doing the same workout twice unless she is testing or working on a specific exercise or technique. Chloe finds this method works best as it keeps her clients interested and excited about fitness whilst learning a variety of functional movements.
Chloe says ‘The anticipation is the best part for me to see within my clients. I am a fair but firm trainer who pushes you to be the best you!’
Chloe’s favourite thing about being a PT is that she gets to do something she is passionate about and seeing others achieve things they thought they would never be able to do. Seeing that clients are happy with their achievements and push for bigger ones is the best satisfaction of her job.
Five questions with Chloe
1. What is your biggest achievement as a Personal Trainer?
As a Personal Trainer actually being enough of an inspiration to motivate my own family back in New Zealand (who often are the hardest people to motivate) to be more active and lead a healthier lifestyle. For them to be inspired by what my clients and I do is the biggest achievement of all.
2. What is your most memorable training session?
I don’t really have a memorable session as all are pretty great! I just love seeing everyone smashing goals and pushing themselves that little bit further each time I throw something new at them.
3. What is your favourite exercise as a trainer?
Any type of functional movements would be my favourite exercises…and burpees who doesn’t like giving out a few burpees as a trainer 🙂
4. What is your favourite exercise or sport outside of work?
Anything on a barbell is fun for me I love to lift and getting my kids out and active as much as I can!
5. What is your favourite quote?
“Strength knows not gender”
