It’s coming up, the dreaded (or anticipated?) four day weekend filled with temptations, and in addition to that the week after when the temptations are heavily discounted and the bargains are too good to pass up. We’re of course talking about Easter, and the chocolate. Read these tips thoroughly to avoid ending up in a dark chocolate-filled hole that is so hard to dig yourself out of!
1. Don’t eat ANY chocolate before Easter
If you know you might indulge in a bit much chocolate during Easter, then make sure to not make an early start because that will for sure add up the calories! Once you start eating chocolate, it is hard to stop and your body will start craving the sugar, so make sure you don’t have any until at the earliest Good Friday.
2. Quality not quantity
If you are going to indulge, opt for good quality chocolate which will be a nicer treat and not fully as bad for your body as the cheaper, lower quality chocolate that you will for sure eat more of.
3. Balance your calories
Make sure to count the chocolate into your daily calorie intake, which means that you’ll need to adjust the calories for other meals during the day to make sure you’re not overdoing it.
4. Eat breakfast
Sugar cravings come from a lack of energy, therefore start the day off in the best way possible with a nice healthy breakfast so you’re not already hiding the foil-wraps before 10am!
5. Drink that water
Like we always say; drink plenty of water as thirst is often mistaken for hunger.
6. Fill up on veggies
Even though you’ll indulge on chocolate, there is no reason to make all meals unhealthy. Fill up on veggies for all meals during the day and you know you’ve had your fair share of vitamins and minerals.
7. Don’t fall for the after-Easter trap
And like we’ve said before – don’t fall for the discounted after-Easter chocolate trap in the shops! When Easter is over, you DO NOT continue to buy or eat chocolate!
