Bellevue Hill
Commencing at the corner of Old South Head Rd and Birriga Rd, head up Birriga Rd turning left on to Bundarra Rd where you’ll find your first set of stairs about 200 m down the road. These stairs lead up to Benelong Crescent. Try a couple of combinations here for 3 sets.
1st set – every step
2nd set – every second step
3rd set – Alternate tiers: every step then every second step on the next tier and so on
Use your return to the start as your recovery time.
The staircase also has an incline that is great for lunging, back-pedaling or broad jumping up to the next tier. Once completed continue on Bundarra Rd and take a sharp left into Benelong Crescent (approx. 200 m). Continue on Benelong for another 100 m where you’ll find a steep set of stairs leading up to Victoria Street.
These stairs are a little uneven and quite steep so maybe try 2 sprint sets ending up on Victoria Rd at the end of the second set.
Benelong Stairs
Continue on Victoria Rd toward Bellevue Rd (260 m) and turn right for a relaxing run down the hill. There are 2 staircases on Bellevue Rd worth mentioning. Both are in good condition and offer stairs and inclined sections where you can stop to do some upper body work such as push ups or crunches for your core on the grass. Alternatively you could do some more lunging, jumping etc to the next tier. The staircases are sign posted to Marsh St (approx. 750 m form the turnoff) and Tarrant Ave (approx. 500 m from Marsh St). Continue heading down Bellevue Rd and turn right into Fairfax Ave. This nicely inclined street heads onto Ginhagulla Rd and then onto Victoria Rd. Heading back toward Birriga Rd for approx. 200m you’ll find our final set of stairs signposted Kambala Rd. An easy jog up and back a few times and you’re ready to head home. Continue along Victoria Rd until you reach Birriga Rd giving you a nice down hill run back to the corner of O’Sullivan Rd.
