Discovery Park - perfect for training
Facilities at Discovery Park include barbeques, a bicycle track, a toilet block including a disabled toilet, drinking fountain and water tap, electricity, picnic shelter, picnic tables, a playground for the smaller kids, a larger playground which has a flying fox, chain climbing rope and a large slide, plus a great concrete skate park for your bigger kids. The Discovery Park Tennis club has courts available for hire day or night.
Discovery Park Helensvale Fitness circuit
While the kids are busy on the playground or skatepark why not try this simple fitness circuit.
Start with a fast walk or slow jog around the walking track, loop right around the tennis courts, through the park and back to the front at the picnic tables then complete:
- 20 push ups with your hands on the table
- 20 squats with your bottom to the park bench each time
- 20 dips with your hands on theย park bench seat
- 20ย step ups onto the bench
Rotate through as many times as you can during your time at the park.
Outdoor fitness session
This basic circuit should take you about 15 minutes for each round. Repeat as many as you can, if youโre new to exercise perhaps start with one circuit and increase by one a week until you get to 5. Getting through 5 circuits should take around an hour while enjoying the great outdoors and setting a great example for the kids happily playing.
