Dog Friendly Beaches Near Redcliffe

Many of the parks & beaches in the Redcliffe and North Lakes local area are dog friendly, and what better way to get and stay fit than by walking and playing with your fur-baby!

Dogs make great running and walking partners, not only do dogs love getting out and being active, but they’re also great for safety, they don’t complain and often have much more energy than we do, which can help to spur you on!

Get Fit With Your Dog

There has been a lot of research that shows that people who own dogs are fitter over all – I think a lot of this comes down to having a reason to get out and walk every single day!

Many of the beaches also have water fountains that are dog friendly, allowing your furry workout buddy to get a drink too.  This is especially important during the warmer months.

Important things to remember when you’re out and about with your puppy

1. Keep your dog on the lead. Not only is it safer for the other people in the community, it’s also safer for your dog.  There are off leash parks such as Kroll Gardens (on the corner of Duffield Road and Elizabeth Road, Clontarf)

2. Keep your puppy 15 metres of a children’s playground, whether or not the playground is being used and stay clear of sports fields.

3. Make sure you pick up your dog’s droppings. There are plenty of dog tidy bag dispensers (or take your own bags) and pop it in a public litter bin.

4. There are fines from the council of up to $150 if you don’t follow these rules.
