Plenty of activities
This Strathpine park has lots of picnic areas with tables, BBQs and shade from trees. There is also a large stage and amphitheatre and plenty of parking and amenities. There is even a frisbee golf course! The rules for frisbee golf are similar to traditional golf, only you’re using a frisbee instead of a ball and tee! For a challenging workout, you can use the steps of the amphitheatre. Steps are great for changing up some simple exercises to make them more challenging and keep you interested.
More tips from our trainers
Aside from the traditional Step Ups and Tricep Dips, steps can be used to challenge your balance. For example, putting your back foot on a step when in a lunge positions, not only makes your front leg work harder, but it challenges your balance, so you get a mini core workout too. You can use a step to make your push ups either easier or harder. Put your hands on the step to create an incline making a push up easier. Put your feet on the step to create a decline position that will make your push ups harder. Running or walking up steps is a great cardio workout, and will strengthen the legs as you propel yourself upwards.
