Varsity Lakes Outdoor Gym

In the lead up to the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Varsity Lakes has become the lucky recipient of the largest outdoor gym in the Gold Coast, located in Central Park on Lake Street, Varsity Lakes. The Gold Coast City partly funded the equipment as a part of their project rolling out several outdoor fitness facilities across the Coast – similar to services offered in London in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic Games.

The outdoor gym facility has been constructed on half of the existing basketball court at Central Park. It is fantastic for the local community to see the direct benefits of the Commonwealth Games, leaving a legacy for them to enjoy for many years to come. Investing council and city money into equipment to improve the health and social environment in Gold Coast suburbs is one of the positive outcomes for local residents from hosting the international event.
